What the F#@k is Encore?

Hiya, my name is Jesse. I am 20 years old, in my third year of study at the University of Wollongong for a Bachelor of Communications and Media studies, and I love long walks on the beach under the light of a setting sun. All jokes aside, what I do really love is music. Growing up in a very musical environment I’ve always had a strong passion for all things related. I picked up my first set of drum sticks when I was 13, and I was shit. But, after years of consistent practise and drum lessons, I became slightly less shit. Eventually, drumming was overtaken by other interests and fun stuff like work and study, but my passion for music has never wavered and I still find myself drawn to the industry. This has put me in a position to witness several subgenres from firsthand experience and see a variety of bands and artists both rise and fall with the extremely fluctuating nature of the industry. The difficulties in ‘making it’ as an artist can never be overstated, especially in Australia’s music industry. This is the purpose of Encore, to highlight some of the difficulties and challenges for Australian artists and ultimately act as a resource for those artists that refuse to say die.
